January's Keynote Speaker:
Jeffrey Jolton

Topic:
Making the Connection: Work Experience, Meaningful Work, and Business Performance

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand the shift focus from "engagement" to "work experience" as a driver of business objectives, and what leaders, managers, and HR should be thinking about as they try to create a more productive work environment for their people.
  • Defining what "meaningful work" is, where there is a resurgence of interest in job design, and how it is a critical element of engagement and the workforce of the future.
  • Discuss research and case examples that help illustrate proper alignment of work experience and meaningful work drives innovation, customer satisfaction, and financial performance, and the traps or obstacles that companies encounter in these efforts.

About the Speaker:

Jeffrey Jolton is Managing Director for PwC's People Analytics practice. He has twenty years of executive coaching experience in employee surveys, leadership assessment, and HR analytics.

Jeff has worked with clients across industries, including both Global 500 companies (including CapitalOne, Hyatt, General Mills, Lowe's, and Rich Products) and mid-size organizations, to help them measure and improve their employee work experiences. These programs focusing on integrating engagement into the way organizations operate as opposed to just being a separate activity. He worked closely with both leaders and managers to help them make the most use of these insights in how they achieve their strategic goals.

To this end, he has also incorporated employee survey data into a variety of advanced HR research initiatives and established a number of assessment-based development programs to help support a variety of change initiatives and keep business focused on what works for them.

He is a regular presenter at numerous professional conferences as well as published extensively in both business periodicals and scientific journals, and co-edited a book on global HR practices authoring a chapter on continuous listening in an upcoming handbook on employee surveys.

Dr. Jolton holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Ohio State University and a BA in Psychology from Lawrence University.
